Easter Day 2012

So we had Easter with family the week before but we decided to stay home and celebrate Easter together. We got baskets for each other but I wasn't feeling good that morning so we didn't open our baskets til later after church. Check out some cute pics..

Easter Egg Time

So because everyone was up for the weekend of General Conference we decided to do an Easter Egg Hunt. We did one with my family out in the backyard with all of the girls and stuff. This year we did something new. I really like the idea and hope that we can continue it. We I found Melissa's service egg. She had written dinner and a movie - Girl's night out!! Chris wrote that the person who found his egg could name their next child. I don't think that Julie really liked that idea. My service was that I would shape and pluck the recipients eyebrows. Julie found mine and I think that she is really excited!! :-) So I really like the idea.. a good way to bring some service into the Easter celebration.
It was the first year that Jake really kind of got into the Egg Hunt. At my Mom's they hid some on the side of the yard just for Roxy and Jake. At Shaun's family we just took some of the eggs that Jake's Grandma Cathy filled for him and hid them around the Family Room. He was so cute getting the eggs and then realized they had candy in them and then just shook the eggs open to get the candy in his mouth as fast as possible. He was really cute. I can't wait for next year and then he will really get into it.
They both got clothes from Aunt Cindy and Uncle Matt, G-pa and Gma Scoffield, and Opa and Gma Phillips. They got some really cute outfits.. I'll have to post pictures when it gets a little warmer and they can wear them..
Check out some of the pics from our egg hunts...

Ahhhh. how cute are they??!!

Savannah is 3 months old!!

My baby girl is now 3 months old. It's kind of crazy how fast time has passed. She is such a cutie pie and so chunky. Jake was always so skinny so it's kinda fun to have a chunky chic!! She caught Shaun's head cold this past week and has been super congested and it makes me want to cry when I hear her wheezy breathing. But she is still such a happy baby and it doesn't seem to really bother her too much. She has the best smile and the cutest laugh. She is really strong and already starting to try and sit up. She sits in the bumbo really well. Jake loves his little sister as of now. I'm waiting to see what happens in a couple of months when she starts trying to take his toys away!! I love my baby girl!! She makes me so happy.

Wearing her brother's hat!!

She fell asleep on the floor the other day!!

Family Pics

So my mother-in-law, Lisa, bought us a groupon to JC Penny Portraits. It expired at the end of March so I figured we should go and take pictures. I wanted to lose more weight before I went but oh well.. I'll document my fattiness and use it as motivation once I lose all this baby weight. I thought that they turned out really well. Jake was being a booger so we didn't get some of the pictures that I wanted. I really wanted one of him and Savannah but he just wasn't going to cooperate. But I think we got some pretty cute ones anyway.

If you want to see them click on the link below. I also posted them on Facebook..

My Funny Jake

I love my little Jakey!! He is the best. He has such an awesome little personality. He makes us so happy and makes us laugh constantly. Some of the things he does:
*He loves to talk on the phone. He seems to always get mine or Shaun's phone and calls people all the time. On our way to Utah he called my Mom 11 times. He says "ay-o" and then will kind of babble, usually give some kind of yell and then say "ba-bye"!
*He is starting to say a lot of words. These are a few: socks ("sssa"), shoes - ("shew"),  nose ("no"), moo ("mmmmmmm"), crackers ("cwackers"), cookies ("cookies"), dada, mama, savannah ("na-na"), and some others that I can't think of right now.
* He knows where his basic body parts are now.
*He loves loves loves to dance. You turn on music and he starts to dance like crazy. He has this one dance move that Shaun calls "boot-to-the-moon" He picks up his leg and puts it out to the side and stomps it down. It's really funny to watch.
*He likes to kiss his sister. He always says "Hhhii" and then kisses her and then tries to hug her. It's super cute.
*He is ready to go to nursery. He gets along with kids pretty well unless they try to wrestle him to the ground; then he seems to get pretty upset.

He still has the best faces. They remind me of Shaun more and more everyday!

Coloring with his friend Sammy. If you look at his forehead you will see evidence of Jake's other favorite pastime; hitting his head on everything. He fell and hit his forehead on the corner of our hallway. He looked a little like an alien for awhile because it was like a silver color.

He likes wearing hats like his Dad. And he likes covering his ears. I haven't figured out why yet.

Swinging at Aunt Vickie's in Vegas.

And.. he's done.

Playing with Aunt Vickie and his cousin Spencer

He crawled under the stool. I thought it was cute.

Just chilling with Haddie.

Latest and Greatest of Savannah

My Savannah is growing soo fast. I can't hardly believe it. She will be 3 months at the end of the this month. She is a pretty good baby. My only beef with her is that she doesn't like going to bed until like 11 or 12. Then she wakes up at 8 or 9 and eats and will sleep until noon or 1 pm. Her idea of sleeping times are completely messed up. I'm not sure how I'm going to fix that. She is super sick right now.. I mean a terrible stuffy nose. One of those that makes you feel really bad because she sounds so miserable when she breathes. I suck the boogers out of her nose all of the time but it never seems to help. She just sounds so sad. I wish I could give her something to speed up her recovery. :-( Other than that she is developing rapidly. She loves loves loves to talk.. like a true girl and a daughter of mine. She seems to get even more excited when Shaun is talking to her. She must be a Daddy's girl. I was singing to her tonight and she started cooing like crazy. I think she must have been a member of the choir in heaven because she sure was trying to sing. It was super adorable. I have a video of her cooing a lot but it's part of a longer video so I'll have to edit it and put it up next time.

So we went to Utah for my cousin Mark's wedding and we stayed with Shaun's Grammy. She is such a nice Grammy and loves Jake and Savannah. They had a blast playing with her and her toys. The drive was relatively bearable considering we had to travel with a 2 month old and 16 month old. Savannah slept the first 6 hours of the trip and we didn't have to stop until Barstow. I guess that was a benefit of her weird sleeping schedule. The trip back wasn't as nice but we still made it home in less than 10 hours. I regret to say that I didn't take pictures of Savannah with any of her other relatives. I feel terrible that I didn't remember to take my camera to the wedding. I need to remember to take pictures of things like that. I'm starting to realize that I took a ton of pictures of Jake and I have been taking less of Savannah. It's already starting to happen like everyone said it would. I feel bad because I love Sav just as much I just don't have as much down time with the both of them as I did when I just had Jake. Having two kids is rough but I'm starting to get the hang of it. It seems to be the hardest in the morning and at night with trying to coordinate morning and nightime feeding. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job at giving as much attention to Jake as I can but Savannah still dominates most of my time.

She's starting to get her little personality. I love her little smiles. She has these cubby little cheeks that Jake never had. I love it. She's looking like she is going to have blue eyes like Jake and I. Sorry Shaun.. maybe the next one will have brown eyes.

O those chubby cheeks

She is such a happy baby and I love spending time with her. She is already starting to sit-up inthe Bumbo. She has super awesome head and neck control. I'm surprised at how strong she is. I can't wait until her and Jake both get better so we can get outside and have some fun..
