Natural History Museum with Aunt Cindy and Family

Aunt Cindy came to Las Vegas for a conference and gave us a good excuse to hang out.  She spoiled my kids rotten and we had a great time.  On Thursday we were able to spend the whole day with her and explore some more things in Vegas that I haven't experienced yet.

We first went to the Natural History Museum downtown.  It was pretty cool.  The kids had fun checking out all the exhibits.  Savvy was scared of the dinosaur exhibit and the King Tut exhibit too.  She is so funny because sometimes she seems like nothing bothers her and then she gets nervous about little things like this.  We all had a good time.

Then we met up at Deseret Book.  It's nice to have it closer to home.

Then we had to hit Cafe Rio again.  Aunt Cindy had it for the first time on Wednesday night and it was her choice for lunch again on Thursday.  It is pretty good!!

The kids were done by then and getting snotty but we went to Wal-Mart to get a swimsuit for Carolyn and I had to get some newborn diapers for the baby.  I must admit I am the least prepared with this baby.  I think it's funny how laid back I've gotten about things that I thought I had to have.  

Then later that night Aunt Cindy made tacos and we enjoyed those and then we went out to help Amber feed her horse and she let the kids ride it.  It was a lot of fun.  Savvy seemed to be at home out there with the horses and dogs.  She is going to be my animal lover I think.  That shouldn't surprise me considering how comfortable she has been with Bella since she was a baby.  She kind of just fell into a rhythm there that I've never seen from her before.  Jake had fun too but I just saw a different side to Savvy so it was fun to watch her.

California!!!

All four of us haven't been home since last August since we stayed home for Christmas last year.  We thought it was time to go to Cali for a visit!  We had a lot of fun catching up and doing some fun things.  I uploaded all the pics on my google plus page.  There is a link at the bottom.  In the meantime here are some of the pics from out trip.

We got to California on Sunday and when I came in my parents house they were getting dinner ready.  I saw someone standing at the sink and I thought it was Melissa but then she turned around and it was Shaunna!!  I was sooo happy.  she totally surprised me and I was super grateful because I haven't seen her for a long time and I thought I wasn't going to be able to see her until Christmas.  So thank you Naunernator for giving me such a great early birthday present!!

The first day we headed out to Bodega Bay Sand Dunes for some camping on the coast.  I haven't been there for so long and it was fun remembering some of the memories of camping there.  We luckily got a campsite close to the bathrooms so Julie and I wouldn't have to go too far for our middle of the night pregnancy potty breaks!  :-)  We went to the beach, roasted marshmallows, played games, and sat around and talked.  It was pretty cold the whole time but was welcome relief for this toasty, pregnant Vegas girl!!  The best part about camping was that all the cousins were there and they had a blast playing.  It's so much fun now that they are getting older.  They are starting to relate better.  They are also starting to fight more but it was still a lot of fun!!!

Savvy and Lacey got along a lot better this time around.  It was fun watching them look for bugs and get super dirty together

 On Friday we went to Fairytale Town and then to Leatherby's.  We had a lot of fun sliding and playing.  I didn't get any pictures at Leatherby's but it was oh so delicious!!

On Saturday we went with Lindy and Cathy to the Club for Breakfast and then met back up to go swimming.  It was so refreshing since it was super hot in Sacramento that weekend.  And I thought I would escape some of the heat.  Nope.  It was 104 most of the weekend.  Fun stuff!!  The pool was great though!!

 I meant to put these pictures up higher but I'm too lazy to switch them.  On Wednesday night we went to Aubrey's house for a BBQ.  It was fun to see my mom's side again and catch up since it had been so long!!  We had a great time playing and Aubrey spoiled us with some of her client's favorite dishes..  Oh so yummy!!!
