Happy Birthday Jake!!!

We had a costume party!! He was grumpy for the first part so I put him down for a nap while everyone was eating and then we played some games!! We had a good time!!

30 weeks!!!

Ok so time really is flying by!!! I'm 30 weeks preggo now!! I can't believe how fat I've gotten.. But I have a plan to take it all back off once this cute little baby comes out.. My ultimate goal, which I had when I first got home from my mission but was deterred by handsome guy named Shaun, is to run a half-marathon.. I really want to do the one in Disneyland.. I think it's viable and do-able goal.. plus going to Disneyland would be a sweet reward for losing the extra weight and running 13 miles... I have a plan and goals all mapped out to get there... My almost 1-year old...

I can't believe how fast time has flown by.. It seems like only yesterday I was standing beside Jake's NICU crib hoping to hold him soon and now he is 21 lbs.. and 29 inches.. and he's turning 1 in 8 days.. I can't believe that this time last year I was about to have a baby and now I'm 10 weeks away from having another one.. I feel a little like a crazy person but I know that it's what I'm supposed to be doing..Besides I'm super excited for Jake to have a friend to play with growing up. They are going to be best buds and he will be the best big brother ever!! He is starting to show a lot more interest in walking.. He will hold my hands and walk all around and he loves to push his little walker activity center thing around. I wouldn't be surprised if he was walking in the next few weeks.. which I will be excited about because then it will be easier when the new baby gets here. He can walk so I won't have to lug him around too!! :-) He his a pretty happy baby and loves to play.. He says Da-da all the time but he just gives me this look when I ask him to say Ma-ma.. It makes me mad because I know that he can say it... but he just won't... and Shaun of course is loving it.. boogers!!!

I'm getting excited for this Saturday.. We are throwing Jake a little birthday party .. I couldn't resist because he has a Halloween birthday.. I mean how can I pass up doing something for that.. It'll be a fun time for sure!!! We are having a costume contest and some fun Halloween games.. I can't wait for Halloween!! His birthday has somehow made it one of my fave holidays now!!

Elder Mangelson is home!!!



Trevor came home this past week. He served in the Billings Montana Mission. He left before Shaun and I got married so this was the first time seeing him as my brother and Jake's first time meeting him to.. Let me just tell you that he took to Trevor pretty quickly. Of course Jake has always been more inclined to go to boys than girls so I wasn't too surprised.. It was really fun to talk to Trev and spend some time with him this past weekend. Whenever I have gone to the airport to pick up a missionary, it seems like the whole group cheers whenever we see them.. for some reason no one cheered except for me but I quickly stopped because no one else was.. But hopefully he knows that we were happy to see him..

Lisa invited us a couple weeks ago to meet down in Vacaville at the Nut Tree. They have a kids play place down there.. with a train and a bunch of other fun stuff. Unfortunately it was kinda rainy so all of the stuff was closed... except for a few of the rocking horses and some little rides. It was fun.. plus we went to Panera Bread which seems to be one of my new favorite places lately.. They have such delicious soups and salads... Yum!!

What's New This Month!!

Jakey is getting so big I can hardly believe it. He is now 11 months old. My mother-in-law took these pictures during conference weekend. He is getting to have such a big personality. He is the biggest goof-ball.. why am I not surprised!! :-) He takes after his Daddy.. He loves making funny faces.. it's hard to get them on camera though.. it's like he knows that we are taking a picture or video so he won't do it but I got a couple of his faces in the pics below.

He is starting to "talk" a little more. He says da-da and ba-ba and ma-ma.. And he knows who those words belong to. Also it's fun because if you ask him what a doggie says.. he say woof-woof.. It's super cute!!
He's the biggest momma's boy.. He will go to other people as long as I'm not around or they have something more interesting for him to play with. Hopefully he will grow out of that. I'm also already having to teach him not to bite. We used to tickle him a lot by pretending to bite him on his sides and legs well probably not the best idea because now he thinks it's ok if he does it too, except he doesn't know how to be soft.. :-) MY little boy is growing up. Hopefully he will be walking by the time this other little baby gets here!!
