We like going to the State Fair. I don't know what I like about it so much. It's probably just the traditional feeling I get when we go. Shaun likes the art exhibits and the fried Oreo's and that's probably it. I like the smell of fried foods, (even though I avoided them this year) the music, the people, the animals, and just the all around American feeling. This year I was a little disappointed at some of the things that the fair was lacking this year but in lieu of cut funding I chose to ignore it and tried to enjoy my time. It was a lot of fun seeing Jake run all over the place. He was so cute. When we first entered the park he was whining because he didn't want to be in the stroller but as soon as he saw the lights and the rides he leaned forward in the stroller and got super excited. It was really cute. We had a good time seeing the animals, and playing around the farm. We checked out some old cars and airplanes too. They had an exhibit this year called the Wizards Challenge or something like that. They had a bunch of fun interactive, hand-on things that Jake loved. We probably spent almost an hour just in there. Shaun loved the art and I thought there were some pretty good pieces of art in there. I'm always amazed at the talent of some of the young folks. It's pretty amazing. We danced to music and listened to Rick Springfield make an idiot of himself. He should just stick to playing music. Most of all, it was fun to spend some time with my family. With Shaun's work schedule, I have felt lately that I never get to see him. I really enjoyed spending the day with my family!

Doing the Passport game at the Farm. He got an apple afterwards. He had fun following Dad around and getting all the stamps in his book. |

He liked the pumpkin plants. |
